And The Verdict Is...

WOoooooooooooooooooOOOOOOooooooooooHOooooooooOoooOOOooo!

I got approved for my breast reduction! I am so excited! Now I will be able to wear cute clothes, and exercise without my back hurting and get cute bras that don't dig into my shoulder!

Kevin and I are getting married on July 26th next year in his parent's back yard. It is going to be gorgeous and I am so stoked!! We are a little hard up for money right now, but we are slipping by so it is okay. Am tired lately since Bekah has decided she doesn't like thunder and that's all it's been doing the past two nights in a row. So there she is. Right in between Kev and I. While it's 90 degrees and I can't get anymore cooler with a miniature furnace lying on me.

I have my dresses picked out. I am starting to feel a little caught up. We have the reception hall reserved, and our theme is....Are you ready for this??? FISHING!!

Now, before you gag, its going to be rustic colors and it will be tastefully done. It IS possible. You'll just have to wait and see.

That's all I have in me for now. Kev will be here with my soda soon.

Ta ta!

Idiocricy? I hope not!

HEY ALL!!

Just got back from Canada two weeks ago and have the most amazing news...

Kevin asked me to marry him!! I said OF COURSE and almost knocked him out of the boat.

The actual conversation went something like this...

He stopped the boat in the middle of the lake, I was freezing.

Him: I have a stupid question for you...

Me: No, I don't want to go all the way back to camp to get a sweater.

Him: Will you marry me?

Me: Are you serious?

Him: I wouldn't ask if I wasn't serious...

Me: *Massive amounts of squealing and hugging and kissing* OF COURSE I WILL!

So I went with my in-laws to be and my bridesmaids and my mom (duh) to pick out the dress. I found the perfect one.

And now everything is starting to feel like it's back to normal.... Well, sort of. Still trying to get used to calling him my fiance instead of boyfriend. Finally have a day to myself to get the house back in order, and after trying on dresses have decided to seriously get into shape before the wedding. (July 26, 2008)

So, I am starting the Slim in 6 series, and walking/riding my bike every other day. So far, I ache, but strangley I feel energized after my sessions.

I decided to also write in my blog every day if possible.

So here are my starting stats, and my goals, and my before pictures. (If you are squeamish, look away, this is mostly to keep me motivated...)

Name: Kristi Marie Christen

Age: 21

Sex: Female

Height: 5'7.5"

Weight: 171.0

BMI: 26.5

Goals:

Weight: 135

BMI: 18 (wishful thinking, I'm sure)

I am 36 lbs to my goal today! I feel great. Usually, I tend to lose interest in something after the first couple of days or so, but this time I have people to keep me motivated. July 17th is my breast consultation, and now I am kind of at a crossroads as to whether to get it done before the wedding or not.

Today for lunch I am going to have a salad with Balsamic dressing (I've read that creamy dressings defeat the purpose of having a salad in the first place, and that No-fat dressings don't absorb as many nutrients as low-fat or regular dressings...)

Wish me luck, will update tomorrow!

There Are Nice People

Today was so... surreal.

We had our garage sale at Mary's and it was fun until I got the phone call.

My grandma went in for a "routine" procedure to remove a kidney stone, only the hitch is there WASN'T a kidney stone. This is not what we were expecting at all since her doctor was pretty sure that's what her problem was. She has been in constant pain and urinating blood, and now they are telling us that it is either a severe infection OR cancer. CANCER. Can you believe it?? I just lost a great aunt already this summer and now this. I'm not prepared to handle this.
Sandy held my hand and prayed with me today, and I realize how selfish I was being. I have to let God handle this, only He knows what will happen in His plan for her.
It is times like this that make me SO grateful for the people I have in my life. Mary was so good to me today, she went to Subway for me and even hugged me when I told her about my grandma. Sometimes I feel so stupid, childish, and petty for the way I act. Everybody has flaws, but it really is easy to look past it and see the wonderful person that everyone has in them.
So thanks Mary, and thanks Sandy, and thanks Angela for being there for me, even though Ang just lost her uncle this week and she is having a hard enough time without having to worry about me as well.
And thank you, Lord, for everything you give me everyday. It's always a miracle when I wake up and get to spend another day in Your world.
I can't wait to get to church on Sunday. That is what I need the most right now.

Will write soon!

Just Do It

Today is the first day I have ever prayed in earnest.

I did it the good old fashioned way. Got down on my knees, folded my hands, closed my eyes and whispered what was in my heart.

I really hope things go okay for Amber and Sebastian.

I really like the new church I am going to, and Bekah is having a good time at Sunday school.

It's really hot in this apartment, and I need to clean. Bad.

Other than that, my grandma is going to be in the hospital this weekend for a kidney stone, so I also hope everything goes good for her as well.

Everyone take care, and come to my garage sale at Mary's house this weekend!

Will write soon,

What Dreams May Come...

Just spent the last weekend at my grandma's with Kevin and WOW!! He did some AWESOME work on her yard with the bobcat. He really impresses me sometimes...well, most of the time actually.

I had this really sweet dream last night. Lately, it's like I'm starring in my own movies, they are so vivid! This one I am toying around starting a book about. I will write more later, but right now I have to go wake up the boyfriend, and take a shower before the dreaded doctor appointment.

See you all soon!!

Buzz buzz!

What a crazy insane couple of weeks.

Last weekend Bekah ended up in the hospital because of a kidney infection. She was a pretty sick girl. Her temp jumped from 97.7 to 104.3 in 45 minutes! She ended up with an IV for fluids and antibiotics, and had to stay overnight. Luckily, we are just finishing up her doses of medication and she will have a follow-up in a month just to make sure her kidneys and bladder are functioning properly. Not fun. I would also like to profusley thank Jenny for her help. I couldn't have done it without her and Kevin and the support of my family. THANKS!

This weekend we stayed at the Kalahari. IT WAS AWESOME!! Bekah was a little freaked out about the waterslides, but after she got used to them I couldn't get her off.

Kevin won her these HUGE spikey balls that she adores. I knew I had him around for a reason. :)

On a heavier note, Amber, Kevin's ex-girlfriend, had her baby on April 15th. He was a couple months early, but he was 15 inches and 2 lbs 13 oz. He is adorable! He didn't want to wait to be born, and Amber delivered him in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. He was breech and needed heart surgery to repair a valve that wasn't completely closed, but he is doing much better and I'm sure she can't wait to have him home. Our prayers are with you girlie, you are going to be a GREAT mom, I can tell. :)

To everyone else, God Bless, and have a great week!

Will write again soon!

Bring Your Taxes, One And All

So I called MATC again today and fared a little better than last time. I was told to come in sometime this week to apply for financial aid, and also that Graphic Design has a waiting list, which is did actually expect. I can, however, take my core classes while I am waiting which is fine with me.
My mom said she would come with me to help with all this as I am completely lost.
The girls are all here today and it is CHAOS. Everyone has so much energy since it has been too cruddy to get outside lately. Today it is pretty nice, so I am hoping to get them outside to run around for a while. Angela's flight didn't get in until midnight last night, so she didn't get to her boyfriends until well after 3. I can't imagine she is feeling too great today since she had to open the store this morning. I am going to give her a call and see if she wants me to just take the girls overnight so she can get some sleep.
My new anti-depressant is working WAY better than I had anticipated. I wake up in the morning and am actually AWAKE. I no longer feel like I have to sleep three more hours. Kevin and I are getting along great. I was away at my grandma's for the weekend, and it is awesome to come home to someone that misses you. Didn't win big at Ho-Chunk, but maybe next time.
I must have drank six styrofoam cups of cranberry juice while we were there. I swear I peed a gallon.
On another note, my mom and I got some yard work done at grams. She has so many trees that the yard is literally coated in leaves by the fall. My grandma is 72 now, so it is hard for her to keep up with it all now that my grandpa has passed away. Luckily, most of my family has pulled together, and my dad and other grandpa along with Kev came up and dropped some of the nuisance trees in her yard. Kevin has been a huge help, and I can't thank him enough for everything he does for me.
Well I suppose I will write tomorrow when I get back from MATC to let everyone know how it went.
Talk to you all soon!

Slim in 6?

I just received my Slim in 6 package today. Hoping to lose the extra baggage I have had since before Bekah was born.
I used to weigh 130 before I got pregnant. At 5'9" that is fairly skinny. Well, I'm officially sick of being disgusted with my body. I am going to start a two day tea fast starting Saturday, and kick off my Slim in 6 routine. Right now I am going to go take my before shot and start my first video, Slim and Limber.
Yeehaw.

Please Hold While I Transfer Your Call...

So the verdict is...

Kevin is excited that I want to go to college. My mom is excited, my grandmother's excited, and MOSTLY I AM EXCITED!!

Graphic Design is TOTALLY sounding like my area. Best of all, I would be able to assist Kevin with his business, even though lately he seems kind of bummed out about it. He doesn't really know what direction he wants to go with his business. I told him the other day I think it would be awesome if he offered some classes. For instance, he is really good at explaining how to use Microsoft Office, and he is an insanely patient person when it comes to teaching computers to people who just never seem to get it. I tell him all the time that I would smack some of the people he helps... That's why Information Technology is not my area of expertise.

I called MATC today and got the runaround. Hence the title of this blog. Started with the admissions area and ended up at the art department and had to leave a message. Hopefully someone will give me a call today, I can't wait to get the ball rolling.

Angela, who is like my best friend EVER, was worried last night. She thought she was going to have to get a new sitter this fall if I am started college. I assured her that I wouldn't do that to her. I am planning on taking my classes online at my own pace when I want to. There is something about being able to hop online at 3 in the morning if I feel like it to do my classwork. There are a few colleges that have formally invited me to apply, one in Pheonix, AZ, and one in Pittsburgh, PA. Both colleges are in the $40,000 range, while MATC is more in the $10,000 range. Plus, campus is right in Madison, so if I DID have any difficulty I could meet with a professor. And, I can graduate with my class.

The girls are still here until 1 this afternoon. They feel like my own daughters sometimes. Angela left for Florida this morning. She and her co-workers won this trip because of a contest they were running at Claire's. She really deserves it. She has had such a rough year because of personal issues, and she works so hard. I have a lot of respect for her, and really look up to her. I know what it is like to be a single mom in today's world, especially when you are so young. She is constantly working, but she doesn't let it rule her life, and she always makes time for her girls and me. I don't know how she does it, especially with her family being 3 and a half hours away...

Well, it is 10:40, and I suppose I should start getting the girls ready to go to school. Hopefully MATC calls today, I can't wait to get a start on what I consider my new life. Kevin and I have a lot of BIG plans. We are going to get married someday, have a house, dogs, you know, typical American dream. Plus, I could REALLY use a new vehicle.

Will write soon!!

Day Three at My House

The girls have been here for three days now, and it seems like I left my old job eons ago.

I love having them here. They listen, for the most part, however I wish the sun would come out so they could run around a little.

I bought a bubble machine (Gazillion Bubbles brand, I would bet that a lot of moms know what I'm talking about), and they have only gotten to try it twice.

I have decided to take some college classes, and hopefully obtain my Associates for Graphic Design. It's a far cry from nannying, but why not do something I enjoy doing? It's definitely better than Sam's Club. I don't know why I'm such a non-conformer, but I like being able to do things at my own pace, on my own time. I get tired of sitting at home, but we can always up and go to the park or the zoo if the mood strikes us. I don't have anyone to answer to, I never have to call in sick, and best of all my "employees" are UBER adorable.

Kevin even plays with them when he comes home! Imagine, the guy who though he would never has kids is dating the girl who already has one! It's really something to hear my daughter yell and giggle when he comes through the door at night. "Kevie!" That's what she calls him.

I suppose I am going to go set the girls up at the table to make cereal necklaces now so I can get another load of laundry done. Only in Wisconsin is it 80 one day and 45 the next. Hopefully next week gets better, we have a lot of plans for this year.
